Private School and Preschool Harborough

St Peter’s School is proud to provide a small and independent learning environment for boys and girls from the town of Market Harborough. Established in 1946, we are a co-educational preparatory day school and preschool that accepts pupils from the term in which they turn 3 years old until they reach 11 years of age.

Our modern educational facilities are situated within the charming Victorian building and grounds, once the family home of local philanthropist and businessman William Timpson. All students are empowered to take an active role in their community, guided by our nurturing staff who create a welcoming, family-like atmosphere where every child feels valued.

Preschool

At Sunnylands preschool, children will feel inspired to learn and play within spacious rooms, an outdoor covered classroom and outdoor space which creates the perfect setting for children to flourish. With the skilled guidance of our experienced staff, children develop important behaviours and social skills such as good manners, sharing, friendship-building, and independence.

We warmly invite you to visit us and see for yourself the happy and nurturing environment which would encompass your child. Please contact us to speak to our preschool Manager to discuss further.

Lower School (Reception and Year 1 to 2)

In the Lower School for Reception and pupils in Years 1 and 2 (Key Stage One), a strong focus is placed on English and Maths, taught by class teachers along with other core subjects such as Science, Geography, History, Art & Design, RE, and PSHE. Our small class sizes allow for each child to receive individualised support and attention, and our daily reading program is monitored closely by teachers with parent involvement encouraged.

Other classes include Modern Foreign Languages, Music, and Physical Education, which ensures your child receives an exceptional education in all areas of the curriculum.

Upper School (Year 3 to 6)

Your child will receive a tailored and imaginative approach to learning which addresses the unique needs of every student. Following the national curriculum and beyond, students will be delivered a high standard of learning which will allow them to discover new interests, make decisions and attain success; with our teaching team regularly monitoring your student’s progress and identifying any areas of difficulty.
