St Peter's School and Sunnylands Nursery will be open for nursery children, the children of critical workers and vulnerable children. The weather conditions and roads still remain hazardous and I would encourage you not to make the journey to school unless it is absolutely necessary. Please take care when driving along the Crescent and other minor roads. Home Learning will continue for Reception to Year 6. Please be very careful.
Due to the severe weather conditions and forecast very low overnight temperatures and icy road conditions, we regret that St Peter's School and Sunnylands Nursery will be closed on Monday 25th January to protect the safety of our children, parents and staff. This includes being closed to all staff, vulnerable pupils and the children whose parents are critical workers. Online Home Learning will continue as normal for children from Reception to Year 6. We will update you tomorrow. Stay safe.
Sunday Times names St Peter's School Kettering number 25 in England.
Spooky Spoons Competition
A warm start to Michaelmas term. It has been fantastic to have ALL of the children back in school for the start of the Michaelmas term. Autumn is officially here and with it is the usual excitement for Harvest, Children in Need, Halloween, Bonfire Night and... Christmas. The children have enjoyed collecting conkers in the school grounds and the eagerly awaited Conker Championships will be starting soon. Welcome back everyone.
As the end of an incredibly busy Trinity term draws to a close, staff say goodbye to the children and begin preparations for the Michaelmas term. The gazebos have been packed away, classrooms returned to 'normal' and everyone is now venturing off on their summer adventures. Have a lovely summer everyone. We will see you all in September.
Great fun was had by all at the PTA Virtual Bingo! #quackquackquack
Some lovely extracts from the hand written 1950 school magazine. I wonder what Christopher Timpson aged 7 1/2 and Jonathan Wicksteed aged 9 would think to Google Classroom and Home Learning? Much of the magazine could be 2021 from Sports Days to School Council elections! #tbt
Reception Class are beyond excited to have the incubator in their classroom as part of their Spring topic. Those at home are getting regular chick-updates. We'll hopefully have some chicks in school in time for Easter.
We are so thankful to our parents who nominated us as a Lockdown Hero. We are proud to be recognised at the National Teaching Awards for our outstanding learner and wellbeing support during lockdown. Well done St P's! #ThankATeacher
We're looking forward to seeing more smiles in school from the 8th March. #9schooldays
Congratulations STANWICK for winning the 2nd annual Pancake Flipping Competition with 15 flips in 30 seconds. Well done Mrs Butler who completed 17 flips in 30 seconds! #Eggcellent
We even managed a virtual bake today so those at home could join in. Thank you Mrs P, for yet another hat!
Whilst the older children measured trees, the younger children baked and decorated Valentines biscuits. #yummy
