A warm start to Michaelmas term. It has been fantastic to have ALL of the children back in school for the start of the Michaelmas term. Autumn is officially here and with it is the usual excitement for Harvest, Children in Need, Halloween, Bonfire Night and... Christmas. The children have enjoyed collecting conkers in the school grounds and the eagerly awaited Conker Championships will be starting soon. Welcome back everyone.
As the end of an incredibly busy Trinity term draws to a close, staff say goodbye to the children and begin preparations for the Michaelmas term. The gazebos have been packed away, classrooms returned to 'normal' and everyone is now venturing off on their summer adventures. Have a lovely summer everyone. We will see you all in September.
It may not have been a conventional Founders Day but the entire school came together, online to celebrate the successes of the academic year 2019-2020. Teachers listed their highlights and special guests praised the hardwork of teachers, parents and children alike.
Mrs Morris and Mrs Waling welcomed new Reception parents to our first socially-distanced meeting in the freshly decorated Sunnylands Hall. The event was a huge success as parents respected social distancing whilst learning about their child's learning journey at St Peter's. Parents also welcomed the opportunity to meet the new teaching duo. Both Mrs Morris and Mrs Waling are looking forward to September and getting to know parents, and children, even better.
As a special treat we welcomed Year 4 and 5 back into school for a wonderful after school event.
Despite being apart during lockdown, Year 3 decided that every friday should be Fancy Dress Friday!
We gave Upper School an early present today. Bright blue, space hoppers. They loved them! #bounce
The tree is a masterpiece. Our House Captains have added the House decorations and the star is ready! Every child has been part of the decorating this year. #tinsel
Today's the day the children decorate the tree and Year 3 are in charge of tinsel. This could take a while!
STEM Club in the ICT Suite. #girlpower
Found at the bottom of a box. 'Lines' by a senior girl who didn't "obey" a prefect! We won't embarrass them by sharing the name on the back! Class S2. #tbt
It's beginning to look a lot like... Don't forget to tune into the Kettering online Christmas lights switch on with Hugh Dennis, tonight at 6pm. https://www.youtube.com/user/ThisisKettering Happy Thanksgiving to our American community too.
We are also very proud of former St Peter's schoolgirl for the work she is doing. Thank you, Old SP, Professor Sarah Gilbert #alumni
We are a non-selective school and children normally join us in Reception class. If a place is available, children may also join in any year group at any point in the school year. Our maximum class size is 20 children. The first thing to do is to visit us, and we welcome visits at any time whilst the school is in session. Open Weeks are established weeks where the pupil’s work is on display. At all visits the Headteacher will meet with you to show you the school and answer any questions you may have. Please call the School Office on 01536 512066 or email STPSOffice@st-peters.org.uk to make an appointment or complete our 'Request a Prospectus' form.
Founded in 1946, St Peter’s has established a reputation as a warm and friendly school for boys and girls with a strong family atmosphere. Focused on inclusive, high-quality learning, St Peter’s boasts small class sizes in a beautiful, historic setting. We are proud of our values-led approach with an emphasis on community. We seek to educate the whole child and value our vibrant and rich curriculum - the arts, music, and sport. Academic rigour is important, but so is creativity, children are encouraged to become life-long learners well prepared for secondary school.
Unfortunately, Open Day in its usual form can't take place this term but, Mr Thomas is offering personalised, socially-distanced tours for families. Get in touch with the school office.
