Inspection - ISI
Inspection Reports
St Peter’s School is inspected by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI), which is overseen by the Department for Education (DfE). The inspection framework ensures that independent schools meet rigorous national standards across all aspects of school life, including education, safeguarding, wellbeing and leadership.
Our most recent inspection, conducted in February 2026, was carried out under the updated ISI framework. Schools are no longer awarded single-word judgements such as Excellent or Outstanding. Instead, inspectors assess whether a school meets or does not meet a comprehensive set of standards.
We are delighted to confirm that St Peter’s School met all of the required standards in every area. These include:
-
Leadership and management, and governance
-
Quality of education, training and recreation
-
Pupils’ physical and mental health and emotional wellbeing
-
Pupils’ social and economic education and contribution to society
-
Safeguarding
This outcome reflects the strength of the school across all areas of provision, and our continued commitment to providing a high-quality education within a safe, supportive and nurturing environment.
The inspection report highlights a number of key strengths. Pupils are described as happy, confident and well-supported, benefiting from a strong sense of belonging within the school community. Teaching is underpinned by a broad and balanced curriculum that promotes curiosity and engagement, while strong relationships between pupils and staff support both academic success and personal development. The report also recognises the school’s effective pastoral care and safeguarding culture, alongside a rich co-curricular programme that enhances pupils’ experiences beyond the classroom.
