Beth Blakeman

Year 5 Teacher

Beth joined St Peter’s after graduating with a First-Class degree in Primary Education from Durham University. Before joining the school, she taught English abroad in countries including Italy and Ecuador. These experiences sparked her love of teaching children from different cultures and continue to influence the way she teaches today.

She has a particular passion for the humanities, especially history and geography, and strives to make every lesson memorable, interactive and inspiring. She believes children learn best when they are curious and engaged, and she enjoys finding creative ways to bring each topic to life.

Alongside her classroom teaching, Beth is passionate about helping children build confidence and self-discipline through self-defence. She holds a second-dan black belt in karate, and enjoys sharing safe, age-appropriate skills that cultivate resilience and respect.

In her spare time, she enjoys skiing in the winter months, scuba diving to explore the underwater world, and playing the guitar.
