Grace Glaves
Pastoral Lead & Year 3 Teacher
Grace has proudly been a member of the St Peter’s team for three years after relocating from Windsor. Born and raised in Rutland, she found her way back to the smallest county in England now living with her husband, two children and their big, soft Labradoodle called Buzz.
Outside of the classroom Grace loves to travel having explored places near and far from Thailand to the United States. Now with children long haul flights have been put on hold in place for wonderful short haul trips to Norfolk, Devon and the Algarve. As a mother, spare time comes at a premium, but in what feels like a previous life she’s an avid horse rider.
Grace discovered her passion for working with children going back to her own early experiences as a school student. An alumni of Oakham School, she went on to complete a marketing degree at Sheffield Hallam University before her PGCE at Bishop Grosseteste University Lincoln. Her first experience of teaching came at the prestigious S. Anselm's School in Bakewell, where she first gained classroom experience as part of her PGCE, whilst also working as a nanny to the Head’s children. She also qualified as a lifeguard at their school pool.
Her first post as a qualified teacher was at an outstanding school in Windsor where she worked for seven years. Here, she developed her teaching skills in Years one to four, led PE and supported the school as Staff Governor.
With over 10 years experience across both state and independent schools and as a mum to her own primary school age child, she understands the impact that a positive educational environment can have. This passion has led to her becoming Pastoral Lead as part of St Peter's Senior Leadership Team. As a Mental Health First Aider, Grace keeps ahead of the latest thought leadership in wellbeing and mental health attending external courses and networking events on this subject. She also supports the School Council representatives, which gives our children a platform to contribute to improvements to life at St Peter’s.
The incredible environment that St Peter’s provides to its students would not be possible if not for the hard work and culture of the St Peter’s team. Grace is proud to work with such a caring, ambitious and collaborative team.
