An April Fool’s surprise brings magic to the school field.

Punting on the River Cam Year 6 spent a wonderful day in Cambridge last week. Their day started with punting on the River Cam, then onto the Cambridge Museum of Technology to see how the Victorian steam engines kept the historic river clean. Alongside Cambridge City Council, they became real citizen scientists by river dipping to gather vital data to track the river health.
And the winner is....? Firework, Eye of the Tiger, Call Me Maybe and Something Just Like This are the songs chosen for the House Singing Competition last week. All houses showcased their hard work, enthusiasm and teamwork in front of a panel of judges, with Brigstock winning with a fantastic performance of Firework!
Year 2 Zoology Museum Year 2 had an amazing trip to Cambridge Zoology Museum and travelled in style (?) on a double decker bus into the City Centre. They had a great workshop learning about animals and their habitats.
Preschool STEM - Learning about the Heart Using a hand-made model the children were captivated to learn about how the heart functions and how blood pumps through the body
Taylor Ward Trophy Day Last week one of our year 6 cricketers was nominated and invited to take part in the Taylor Ward Trophy at Uppingham School. This was a great honour for her to represent St Peter's in an elite cricket competition with fellow cricketers from other independent schools locally to one from Kenya! She took part in training exercises and drills in the morning led by Uppingham School's Cricket coaches, before playing in a 30 over game in the afternoon representing team Ward. It was a great day of Cricket at incredible facilities. Thank you to Uppingham School for the invitation! #uppinghamschool
Do Taller Trees have Wider Trunks? That's what year 1 were trying to establish in their Science Investigation.
Year 6 explore independence and safety skills Year 6 did St P's proud with their excellent behaviour when they went to Hazard Alley to explore 10 life-sized hazards from fire and trains to household dangers and using a public telephone !
Before half term we had our annual swimming gala. Congratulations to Sywell who were overall winners.
