On Tuesday 12th March the PTA organised for 'The Indian Experience' to come into school for the day.  This was a wonderful chance for the children to learn more about this beautiful festival through stories, dressing up in traditional Indian clothing and participating in Indian folk and Bollywood style dancing.

The children loved it, of course!  The prizes included help the office for a hour, and hour with Mr Cox in the garden, bubble blasters and more plus whole class prizes such as a trip to the park, treat bags and a dress down day.  The event raised £197.08, thank you to all who participated.

The time capsule is to be sealed and kept safe at school to be opened by the new classes on the next Leap Year.  Hopefully this new tradition will be enjoyed by all the children. Both now and in four years time when the next set of year groups get to read what has been left for them.

There was also a small gift hopping or should I say leaping their way to the children 🐸🐸🐸

Our year 5 & 6 children got to meet and listen to award-winning children’s author Hannah Gold.  Whilst year 3 got to explore The Histronauts series - year 4 are taking part on Friday!

The Festival featured a fantastic programme of truly entertaining and informative authors of very popular books for children of all ages. There was dramatic storytelling, top eco-tips, hilarious poetry, fun and exciting animal quizzes, Greek History and designing of book covers.  Authors this year included Hannah Gold, Frances Durkin, Joshua Seigal, Sarah McIntyre, Iona Rangeley and for the writing competition event, Sam Copeland.
