How to Apply

We are a non-selective school and children normally join us in Reception class.  If a place is available, children may also join in any year group at any point in the school year.  Our maximum class size is 20 children. The first thing to do is to visit us, and we welcome visits at any time whilst the school is in session.  Open Weeks are established weeks where the pupil’s work is on display.  At all visits the Headteacher will meet with you to show you the school and answer any questions you may have.  Please call the School Office on 01536 512066 or email STPSOffice@st-peters.org.uk to make an appointment or complete our 'Request a Prospectus' form.

School Information

Founded in 1946, St Peter’s has established a reputation as a warm and friendly school for boys and girls with a strong family atmosphere.  Focused on inclusive, high-quality learning, St Peter’s boasts small class sizes in a beautiful, historic setting.  We are proud of our values-led approach with an emphasis on community.  We seek to educate the whole child and value our vibrant and rich curriculum - the arts, music, and sport.  Academic rigour is important, but so is creativity, children are encouraged to become life-long learners well prepared for secondary school.

Meet the Headteacher

Mr Thomas embarked on his journey with St Peter's School in 2020, bringing with him a wealth of experience from esteemed independent institutions such as Copthill School (awarded Prep School of the Year), Uppingham School, and Oakham School. His journey is characterised by a dedication to transformative education and a profound impact on communities; he travelled to Nepal in 2019 to rejuvenate a primary school left in ruins by a devastating earthquake, a life-changing opportunity. Mr Thomas holds the influential position of Chair of Governors at the largest Special School in Lincolnshire, reflecting his commitment to inclusive and equitable education. His canine companions, trained as reading dogs, share his passion for education and are a beloved addition to our school community, bringing joy and a unique learning experience to our students. From the moment he stepped into St Peter's School, Mr Thomas was enchanted by its distinctive charm and the vibrant tapestry of learning and values it weaves, a magic he is eager to share with more families, fostering a community where every child is embraced in the warmth of learning and boundless possibilities. Mr Thomas envisions a future where the unique allure of 'St Ps' becomes a shared treasure, illuminating the paths of many more families seeking an unparalleled educational experience for their children.
